The expertise of our Associates is diverse and complementary, covering a broad range of the technologies and disciplines relevant to electric power engineering and the regulatory and market arrangements of the Electricity Supply Industry. In addition, we are able to call on experts in specialist technical fields from outside CHC Associates to augment the capabilities of our own team.

Christopher FitzGerald
Chris has extensive professional experience in the electricity supply industry in Australia and internationally. Before joining CHC Associates Chris was a member of Transgrid’s Executive and, for more than a decade, was responsible for the delivery of the significant Transgrid major capital works program during that time. He was also Chairman of the Australian Technical Committee of CIGRE and a member of the Board of CIGRE Australia.
Internationally, he has managed several technical consultancies associated with major electrical infrastructure projects in Vietnam and China.
His expertise centres on the delivery of major capital projects and the governance and assurance associated with the overview and management of such projects. He also has extensive experience in the route design and implementation of extra high voltage transmission lines, particularly route options selection, community consultation and environmental impact assessment and detailed design of transmission infrastructure.

Steven Jones
Steven joined CHC Associates in 2016, after over 40 years’ experience working in the electricity supply industry. He previously held senior management positions at Transgrid in the areas of capital project delivery and design. This comprised the delivery and design of substations, transmission lines, cables, control and protection systems, and telecommunications. His experience also includes high voltage equipment, asset management and implementation of new strategies. He was also Chairman of the Australian Technical Committee of CIGRE and a member of the Board of CIGRE Australia.
More recently, Steven has assisted in the areas of capital program delivery, renewable generation grid connections, governance and assurance systems.

Dr. Ashok Manglick
Ashok Manglick joined CHC Associates in 2013, having previously held a several senior technical and management positions in Transgrid including Group Manager for Network Support & Consultations, Group Manager for Demand Management and Group Manager for Strategic Projects. Ashok has provided advice and consulting services to the World Bank on energy sector reform strategy, including a roadmap for Pacific Island Countries and to Electranet SA on developing a non-network solutions framework including policy, procedure, network support contract and survey of international experience in demand management.
He has assisted Transgrid in preparing its statutory transmission annual planning report. He also provided advice to a major international company on the battery storage and network support market in Australia. Ashok served on the Industry Advisory Panel of CSIRO’s $13 million Future Grid Cluster project.
In 2005, he led the establishment of the Australian Power Institute (API) to provide support for power engineering education and research. He was the Founding Chief Executive and Director of the API from 2005 to 2008.
Ashok was the Chairman for 2006-8 of the Asia-Oceania Regional Council (AORC) of CIGRE which has Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Thailand and Vietnam as member countries.
His current interests include policy and strategic issues related to energy markets, their structure and interaction with wider economy, regulation and reform of the energy industry, energy economics, power system planning and dynamics, smart grid initiatives and demand side response.
